Well, I discovered some old GF Sleek and Shine Leave-In Conditioner (has amodimethicone in it, figured I'd use it since I have to low poo Saturday anyway) and scrunched it into sopping wet hair. When I was rinsing the AOHR out, I scrunched constantly. I then conditioned the lower part of my hair with AOHR and left on for a bout 10 minutes. I water washed and did a light conditioning with Suave Aloe and Waterlily Condish and detangled with a wide toothed comb. So, I decided to use some of my older products in the graveyard under the sink. I currently don't really have any products with me (took them to a family member's house, left them there) and my order isn't coming in until next week. Well, let me start off by saying that I LOVE THIS. I am just going to enjoy my curl creams and forget gel. It's a nasty look.and often a nasty feel. I'll just use hairspray those days.Īnd it makes my hair look wet, not shiney.so, it's not a healthy, shiney look.

I don't really need a lotof hold, unless it's windy outside. I don't know where I got the humidity-shielding idea, but it makes a little sense to me. I was hoping it would shield my hair from humidity, provide extra hold, make hair shiney, etc. I think I'm just going to give up using the gels I have.give them away.maybe my mother or nieces will want them ? And not worry about it anymore. I keep checking it hoping someone will post some new ingenius way to use all the gel collecting dust in my bathroom drawer. The only way I have found it to work for me is to mix it with water and use it as a finishing spray on dry hair to smooth down frizzies. I had an earlier post about not liking gel. :wave:That's me! I primarily use curl creams. I've used some nice creams & pomades, but I have yet to discover a gel or a mousse that works for me.ĭoes everyone here use gel? Has anyone else had the same experience I have? Both dry out my hair & make it even frizzier. I have never, ever liked what gel did for my hair. I hate the wet look! I just wanted to hear from others who might've done that to see if it's another way to experiment with my gel before giving up. I'm afraid distribution will be sticky and messy, will frizz up my hair, and look wet. I'm actually "scared" to try the gel first and then the curl cream. Maybe one or two more experiments with it and if not to my satisfaction, then goodbye to it. I'm also thinking about giving the HE SMU gel away as well. The Wella gel is discontinued.I'm thinking of keeping the opened, barely used bottle to experiment with and giving the other away. I also have a tube of Herbal Essences Set Me Up gel. I tried it once without curl cream and it wasn't too bad.but I just like the curl cream better.

I bought them based on a good review at another hair board. I have two bottles of Wella Brilliant spray gel.smells good. I didn't like the wasn't awful but it felt strange, looked wetter than I would like. Yesterday, I experimented by mixing the two together. I was just curious about putting gel first and then curl cream. I don't mind cones but I do mind that one.instant poof and bad hair days for a week with that cone.
